Is there (limited?) support for programming scsi adapters to make them active scsi devices?
If yes, it is possible to use a scsi adapter to build a scsi net, or to use it to emulate
e.g. a scsi block device with a scsi adapter crypting it on the fly or crypting and raid-ing
it.

It there some convention that I should follow or should I do it on my own?
