in reality the scsi drives are 'hosed' on spin-up with 2.2.12. Even a hardware
reset will not unfreeze. nor loading up 2.0.36 will reset the condition. One
must electrically turn off the machine, and reboot with trusty 2.0.36. allow
2.0.36 to spin-up up the drives - reboot, and then load 2.2.12.
