No where.
Disconnect/reconnect has worked fine on a fair number of boards
for the last seven years. This suggests that the problem is unique
to your setup, or a few others.
The driver only sleeps when the device disconnects. Unless you
change things so that it periodically sleeps, not allowing disconnects
will result in horrible interactive performance for every one else.
