Just out of interest....

It appears our server has a fault on the PCI bus somewhere.. not sure
exactly where yet - but we got some guys to build a replica of our server
and install Redhat 6.0 and it installed first time with no glitches (ours
froze on scanning SCSI devices, which is why we booted a patched kernel from
IDE)

They didnt have exactly the same RAID config as we do but achieved excellent
stats with the Megaraid/HP NETRaid controller...

Thanks to all those who responded!

Regards,

Matthew Clark.
