Hm..... VP32170 sounds like a Quantum saturn drive....

this is an old revision which explicitly has some problems with full
queues that arent really full.....
I had/have one of these and had the same problem until I upgraded the
firmware (L915 I think).
If you look very careful and deep down in the dir-tree at quantum you
could find the firmware tool and the firmware.
They had a webpage to help you indentify there drives by their numbers.
