            Good Day,
I'm having trouble installing LinuxPPC on my PMac 7200, and I think
I've
narrowed the problem down to my SCSI HD. It is a Seagate Elite 9
410800N,
and it works just fine on the Mac OS side of things.
Here's the situation, I'd installed all of the software just fine,
have found
a kernel that works, and can boot the XWindow installer just fine.
Partitioned
and mounted everything just fine, and even started to load the RPMs!
Until, the system halts(the clock icon doesn't flash the ':' anymore),
and the
activity light on my HD stays lit. Usually in about 5 minutes, the
system
returns and give me a message:
"SCSI Disk I/O error :dev 08:18 sector **** return code 25040000"
If you could please offer me any assistance, I would really
appreciate it!
Do you think it's just the issue of an older SeaGate drive with the
Linux
partitioning? Could a new HD driver cure my woes?
Thanks for listening, and a response would be very much appreciated!
