 Hi scsi linux experts,

I am evaluating the possibility of whether Linux can support our Ampex
tape drive
and have some questions:

1. Can Linux support single scsi transfer of at least 1040384 bytes?
     This is necessary in order to stream our tape drive at 15MBytes per
second.
      We are using Adaptec 2944UW card and recently have Sun fix the
      Solaris 7 x86 adp driver to support that. So there should be no
      hardware limitation.
      Basically, the scatter-gather list is increased to 254 from 16.
      Will Linux has memory problem to support that?
      I already read http://www.torque.net/sg/ but not really sure.

2. After a scsi reset, can the scsi card/driver re-negotiate sync and
wide transfer?
      The document "Writing a SCSI Device Driver" by Richard E. Faith
       indicate slave_attach() is not implemented!
      Any comment on this?
