Sorry, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful. But someone pointed me to:

a utility to upgrade the firmware on seagate drives. I've got in
touch with Yamaha and they have given me the information needed to
programme the 4416S to update it's firmware.

I havn't got the time at the moment to look into it. But i hope to
have a stab at it in 3 weeks or so.
