I have (had?) problems with a Tekram sym53c875-controller. I could stop
the system easily with "ls" and "cat /dev/sdx".
Now I slowed down the bus, configured timings in the bios more defensive
and disconnected the IDE-hdd.
I think the solution was to change the board-clocks:
extern: switched from 83 to 60 MHz
PCI: changed from async. 32 to sync 30 MHz
The CPU is also slower (at the moment), but I will soon try to change
everything back expect the PCI-speed...
Perhaps this helps you.
Bye,
Rob
