Date: Wed, 28 Apr 1999 22:37:50 -0500 (CDT) From: Robert Johannes <rjohanne@piper.hamline.edu> To: linux-scsi <linux-scsi@vger.rutgers.edu> Hi Gerarde, and everybody else who was following on my post regarding the SCSI GROSS ERROR I was getting with the above driver. It turns out that Gerarde was after all right about the scsi bus being the cause of the problem. If you remember, I was having a hard time booting the ST39173WC (SCA) drive. It turns out that the SCA adapter I was using some how was breaking the bus, and not allowing the drive to perform adequately. I changed the brand of the adapter, and the drive works perfectly now, and quite fast too. I did an hdparm -t /dev/sda1 and I got an average of 14.35 megabytes per second. I'm satisfied with it (and hopefully nothing quirky happens) Thanks M. Roudier, and all the others for ya help.
