Good day,
I'm finally getting around to installing 2.2 . 2.2.6 specifically. I'm
currently running 2.1.131ac13, so I didn't think it would be that big of a
jump. I've got a Compaq Pro Workstation 5000 with an NCR53c875 controller on
board. On bootup all seems to go well until the SCSI subsystem trys to
initialize. The controller inits just fine, then I get a message to the effect
of:
SCSI: aborting command due to timeout: pid 0, scsi 0 (. . .
. . . and some more stuff that ended with zeros.)
SCSI host 0 abort (pid 0) timed out - resetting.
and similar messages that just go into a timeout loop. SCSI ID 0 is my Seagate
Baracuda 2.1 Fast/Wide drive - my boot drive and the only SCSI device on the
system. Sorry I couldn't get the whole message, but it obviously doesn't log
and it just scrolls by faster than I can write. If anyone really needs any
more precise details, let me know and I'll get them for you.
Now our power just went off so I'll have to go. . .
TIA!
