Hello,
I am trying to install Linux on an old compaq proliant 1000, which has
an embedded scsi-2 NCR controller and also an scsi adapter. The embedded
controller connects to the CDROM, and the scsi adapter is hooked up to
control an array of scsi hard drives. When I boot up, the bios detects
both controllers, CDROM and hard drives just fine, but when I boot the
Linux installation by diskettes, Linux could not see any of the drives
out there. I can boot up in DOS, load the compaq's drivers to access to
all of the drives, but again when try to install Linux, none of the
drives was detected.
I've seeking help on other Linux forums, but none has any solution. The
closest solution was to boot up on DOS and then switch over to Linux;
that's just fine if only I could install the Linux first!
One gentleman told me to solicit helps on this forum, so here I am,
please help!
TIA,
Ly Vuong
