You might want to go for Tekram PCI SCSI adapters.
You can get the DC390 (with AM53C974 chip) which is Fast (Narrow) SCSI (and
should be about $60) or the DC390U (with Sym53C825) which is Ultra (Narrow)
SCSI and should be about $75. Both are supported by Linux, use the tmscsim
(developed by me) resp. the ncr53c8xx (developed by Gerard Roudier) driver.
If your kernel is very old, you may need a newer one or patches.
Both have one internal 50pin connector and one external 50pin connector.
So you need an adapter or another cable for your ZIP.
The BIOS of the Tekrams is very nice and allows you to tweak a lot of
settings, including choosing a device to boot from, including SCSI-CDs.
Also the drivers provided by Tekram (for OS/2, Win, DOS, NT, Novell) are
fine.=20
If you decide in favor of the DC390, you can contact me for further
assistance regarding the driver ...
