Hello all.
I'm looking into different options for an internal SCSI CD-ROM drive as
well as a SCSI flatbed, color scanner to be used under Linux.
The SCSI adapter being used currently is an Adaptec AHA2940, with a
Conner 1G drive and a WangTek tape streamer on it atm.
Any recommendations for CD-ROM drives that work nicely with the above? I
intend using it to install software mainly, not really multimedia. This
could change, I suppose.
The scanner I'm leaning towards at the moment is Hewlett Packard's
ScanJet 3C - now from what I read on HP's web page, this beast runs on a
dedicated SCSI adapter. Will I have a tough time getting Linux to
support this SCSI adapter? Should I try find out more about the card
(microprocessors used etc) and post my findings to this list? Am I
maybe misinterpreting the situation, and the ScanJet will be equally
happy with the already working AHA2940?
Any other SCSI (or not SCSI) flatbed color scanners someone would like to
recommend instead? I'd know more about Logitech's offerings if I could
find their website.
Regards
