yes. its working for now when we get any external devices I have to set the tape and
disk on the same cable

hmm so the error is that noone is turning it on again or is it that it fails when it tries
that.

I have put a cron script in that dose find on all files then wc that would be a good simulator
for a backup. If I can run this for a few days whitout problem I know the disk is ok.

I am not sure about the termination could that produce this kind of problems?
