Um Richard, part of the problem could well be that anyone who emails you
directly finds they are automatically in your kill file and then decides
"Ahh **** it".
If you've changed that, I applogise, but since you are getting a copy
of this email directly, I guess I'll find out. It probably hasn't helped some of
the flames on Linux-kernel either.
FWIW I agree that devfs is "A good thing (tm)", and solves a lot more problems than
it creates.
