Well, in all the debate, I've never had this raised as a problem. And
I don't actually have a kill file that people find themselves in!
What I have is a spam filter. Stuff sent via the mailing list is
accepted, as is stuff Cc'ed to me that is sent to the mailing list.
Even for private replies, people don't usually get a reject from the
spam filter, because the mail headers should reflect that they're
replying to me. Further, I have a fairly broad whitelist which lets a
lot of people through unhindered.
The inner circle of kernel developers are all on my whitelist, so I
don't think they get affected by the spam filter. And when I reply to
someone, their address is automatically added to my whitelist.

No, I haven't changed that, but I don't think the filter is the
problem.
