Just thought I would share this info:

I found that my card had come from the manufacture flashed with a BIOS that
the manufacture (FIC)'s WWW site lists as for a different version of the
card.

I have a PA-2013 (PCB 2.0), the BIOS version was 1.15JI31, however,
according to http://www.fic.com.tw, the BIOS version 1.15JI31 should be used
only for PCB 1.x. I have PCB 2.0. So, I flashed it with the proper BIOS
(1.51JI32), and everything is working FINE!

After 3 hours of *extensive* heavy load testing on the SCSI subsystem, I am
unable to make the failures happen that I could make happen in 5 minutes
before. I am loading the drive like never before without a problem. The
drive is running in full 80MB/sec mode, with 8 tag depth, disconnection
permitted, etc.

However, I would like a definitive answer. At this point, as far as I can
tell, the problems have just "magically" fixed themselves.

Can anyone comment on the possibility that the mainboard BIOS being the
wrong version causing all the seemingly SCSI-related problems that I was
seeing?
