Well, actually, it turned out to be sd_mod, instead of sd, but you got me
pointed in the right direction.

I tried this and it didn't seem to work, so I opted for uncommenting the
appropriate lines in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules, and it's working, so i'm off to
solve the original problem.
