No, I don't think that's the problem. That won't cause a single
disk access to hang the drive with the access light on. That
may be why the *rest* of the SCSI bus hangs, but the problem
starts with some scsi operation never completing to the ST296N.
I don't rule out the possibility that the drive is hosed. That
it worked last time I tried it under MSDOS doesn't mean much...
(This may explain why my DTC3290 driver never worked -- I was
trying to use this drive, and had the same symptoms. Maybe
I was closer to a working driver than I thought I was...)
