I've been trying to get linux installed on a N440BX + intel astor
chassis system without any luck. When linux scans the bus I get the following
error (id 6 is the hotswap controller, which is detected as "ESG-SHV SCA
HSBP M5 0.47" by the NCR bios). I've tried most combinations of sync/wide
options in the bios without success and used both ncr53c8xx and sym53c8xx
drivers.
You can disable the SAF-TE backplane on the Astor by setting the bottom jumper
to the "Force Update" position.
