Once in a while, I get this error when trying to do a backup:

Dec 16 06:14:08 defiant kernel: st0: Error with sense data: extra data not valid Current error st09:00: sns = 70 3
Dec 16 06:14:08 defiant kernel: Raw sense data:0x70 0x00 0x03 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x15 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x16 0x03 0x02 0x00 0x00

It repeats itself a lot, and in the end the backup isn't there.

Can someone translate these numbers into English? Is this most likely a
driver bug, a hardware problem, or a bad tape?

Here's the tape's entry from /proc/scsi/scsi:

Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 01 Lun: 00
Vendor: EXABYTE Model: EXB-85058HE-0000 Rev: 0103
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

I'm not subscribed, so please Cc: me if you have any hints.
