Hello Jon, If it is simular to the 5000 series
(we may have a 7000 though) , there is a switch
block on the thing that can be set to compress
auto/always . If it is set to always then the
scsi set commands (may) fail . To be honest I've
-never- had good response using the 'mt' command &
setting density/compression/& a few others.
Although setting blocksize 0 has always worked to
get variable block sizes . Hth
