Yet another thank you all very much note.

I have done what everyone pointed out and rerun the mkinitrd file after
embedding the SCSI card support in the kernel. Now everything is working
beautifully. Since I no longer have any SCSI devices as modules is it of any
use at all to have an initrd since the file-systems can be read without any
sneaky work-arounds? The only thing that is still modularised is the Intel
N/W E/Express card.
