Hi folks,

I'm having a strange problem with the following:

Running on an HP netserver RedHat linux 5.0, the SCSI tape is detected
(see listing below) and the 'mt /dev/st0 status' command works but tar
doesn't do anything.

scsi0: Sending SDTR!!

Unable to get major 9 for SCSI tapes

As I can see, the SCSI driver seems to have a problem with the major
number 9, are there other values I can safely use ? Or is there some
other problem ?

Thanks anyway,
Pascal.
