I think a rescan (with no mounted devices) would be very useful.
What I've done is:
1) build scsi driver as a module
2) rmmod it
3) turn on devices
4) insmod
I'm not an expert on scanning scsi busses, but it should be able
to be done (via an ioctl or through /proc/scsi).
Is there a way to find out the mapping of the current devices
(via the /proc files system?)
