Hi again everyone.
I am still battling with this DPT 2044UW.
I have decided to remove other SCSI adaptors and just use the DPT to avoid
the problem of only two drives being found. Now all five drives are being
detected.
1) One narrow drive IBM which is the boot volume.
2) Four ultra wide IBM data drives.
3) Termination is set to high only
4) Both the narrow drive and the final drive in the chain of wide drives are
actively terminated.
Thanks for the suggestion to use the eata driver - however that one is also
problematic as it only finds the narrow drive and none of the wide drives.
Also, since it does not provide information through /proc/scsi/eata I cannot
determine what speed the bus is operating at or if the cache module is
detected or not. Is there another way I can check this?
When I use the eata_dma module all drives are found but the bus speed is
shown as 5Mhz and the card reports that there is no cache module attached -
while there is in fact an RC4040 with 64 Meg onboard.
Are there any parameters I can feed the module to force it into setting bus
speed at 20Mhz and cache module as attached with 4*16Meg modules onboard?
Thanks for any suggestions you might have
David Leigh
