I've got a server with 2 SCSI chains and several Micropolis 1991's on
each. The drives in use are:
1991-27 1128RV Rev: 28RV
and
1991NT Rev: x43h
The system keeps crashing (about once a week), sometimes with visible SCSI
errors, sometimes just hard lockups. Termination is active at both ends.
Cabling has been replaced. The controllers are NCR 810's. I'm
considering swapping out the NCRs for a pair of Buslogic's, but I really
think the drives are the problem. Are 1991's or 1991NT's known to have
buggy firmware? Does anyone know if non-buggy code was ever released
before Micropolis went under?
