I installed RedHat 5.1 (Kernel 2.035-1) using my scsi Jaz drive as the
filesystem. I actually was quite pleased at the ease of the install as
it detected my Adaptec 2940UU and continued on.
Now I've run into a problem as I am rebuilding the kernel.
I'm a newbie so bear with me please as I'm struggling to make this
succesful. My question is how do I install both SCSI support and the
low level driver (AIC7xxx)sp??.. Do I install both as a module,
directly into the kernel or a mix and match ?
I actually went ahead and built it first directly into the kernel and
upon boot up the system freaked out scrolling away endlessly wth some
error message I couldn't catch (sorry).
If I need to do modules need I make a initrd file?
Thank you,
Stuart Felenstein
