dump fails to backup to scsi tape on a machine here in 2.1.123, it
complains about end of tape at once. The following message is logged by
the kernel:
st0: Error 27070000 (sugg. bt 0x20, driver bt 0x27, host bt 0x7).
Anyone who can shed some light on this error message?
Some machine details:
scsi controller used for tape: BusLogic Model BT-956C
dat player: HP Model: C1537A Rev: L610 , DDS-3
SMP 2 cpu PPro
The command line used for dump was
/sbin/dump 0Bbfnu 25165824 63 /dev/nst0 /dev/hda6
And the output of dump was:
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Fri Oct 16 12:32:44 1998
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
DUMP: Dumping /dev/hda6 (/) to /dev/nst0
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 1933523 tape blocks on 0.08 tape(s).
DUMP: dumping (Pass III) [directories]
DUMP: End of tape detected
DUMP: Closing /dev/nst0
And this on a "freshly" rewinded 12GB tape...
