Hi,
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I have checked through the
archives and while I've found similar problems I haven't found any
answers.
I have and adaptec 2940UW SCSI adapter, kernel 2.0.35 with pre15 just
applied. Ever since 2.0.35 I have been getting copious errors in the
logs.
At least once a day :
nerys kernel: (scsi0:0:0:0) Parity error during phase Data-In.
nerys kernel: (scsi0:0:0:0) Using wide (16 bit) transfers.
nerys kernel: (scsi0:0:0:0) Synchronous at 20.0MHz, offset 8.
nerys kernel: (scsi0:0:0:0) Parity error during phase Message-In.
nerys kernel: (scsi0:0:0:-1) Unexpected busfree, LASTPHASE = 0xa0,
SEQADDR = 0x151
with the last message repeated dozens of times. Then occasionally :
nerys kernel: SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0.
nerys kernel: SCSI disk error : host 0 channel 0 id 0 lun 0 return code =
80000
nerys kernel: scsidisk I/O error: dev 08:05, sector 166998, absolute
sector 1195221
I'd be most grateful of any suggestions, or even someone just telling me
whats wrong and whether I should be worried. I have only even been able
to get about 1.4Mb/s out of the drive.
Ta,
Matt.
