Has anyone had a problem with using the adaptec aic7880 (v1.32.02) UW
scsi controller with the seagate barracuda 18GB drives in a raid 0
configuration? I am trying to configure 5 of these, they all check out
individually but when attempting to create the filesystem there is a
timeout near the end and the whole system hangs after some reset
attempts.
I have tried disabling wide negotiation and lowering the transfer rate
to 5mb/s. While it completes the mke2fs run, the hang recurs when the
drives get busy.
I am using RH5.1 with all the latest patches (kernel 2.0.35-2).
Any ideas?
