Hi all.

A customer bought a new HP Netserver LCII with a HP NetRaid-1
controller. Now they want to use this machine with Linux.
Luckily the thing boots Linux and discovers an AIC-7870 and
the two disk drives.

Is the NetRaid-1 controller usable with Linux? So far the
answer seems a no (which is acceptable). However i'm curious
if there are any experiences with the thing.

Slightly off topic:
The customer initially intended to have RAID1 (mirroring)
through the NetRaid-1 controller. However this should be
achievable through md (or LVM).
Does RAID1 make much sense with Linux on a single SCSI
controller? I assume the box probably goes down anyway when a
disk becomes faulty and a tape restore should be equally
convenient (~10 GB).

Thanks for any suggestion
Michael
