I did try it out, and with kernel 2.1.118, prepatch 7 for 2.1.115, nd
then the prepatch 7 to 8 I got it to work like gangbustas.
i have a scsi hd and a scsi cdrom, and it found both
it times out on the first pass, and then finds everything
It seems to work sofar :)
