Hello,
I compiled the scsi driver with kernel 2.1.107, and it is wokring fine without and problems.
When I compiled the same scsi driver with newer Kernel 2.1.118, The Kernel did not even load the driver, then I got the following messages and handed the system:
,,,
PCI: PCI BIOS revesion 2.10 entry at 0xf0510
PCI: Probing PCI hardware
Starting kswapd v 1.5
PS/2 auxiliary pointing device detected -- driver installed.
md driver 0.36.6 MAX_MD_DEV=4, MAX_REAL=8
scsi : 0 hosts.
scsi : detected total.
Partition check:
request_module[block-major-8]: Root fs not mounted
VFS: Cannot open root device 08:01
Kernel panic:VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:01
I even put the print statement in the _setup and _detect routines. It never print out those statements.
What is the change on Kernel 2.1.118, I do not know.
Maybe someone can help me. ANY solution to the problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
HL
