Probably NCR53C8XX, which is NCRs current SCSI chip family at the time
they were bought by Symbios.

(I have a rather new SCSI card which was claimed as "genuine Symbios", 
but the "Symbios compatibility" option in the driver did nothing. But
it wasn't needed either.)
