I have a 1542 Adaptec Host adapter, I have recompiled before wiith no
trouble but for some reason each time i recompile with kernel source 2.0.34
i get a kernel panic. I am either forgetting something or sheesh i don't know.
I use the debian distrabution. when recompiling i use <make menuconfig> in
the "/usr/src/linux" directory i select the AICxxxx (built in)from lowlevel
scsi drivers, and then select scsi support for disk, cdrom. i have also
tried the AICxxxx (built in) with the 1540 as a module and (built in).
no luck yet. I have downloaded the source for 2.0.35 and compiling it
myself today. but if i get a kernel panic again i would have to say that
its user error.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
thanks babs
