I have the exact same configuration on my system which I bought from Dell
(except that I have dual processor). I compiled a new kernel after getting
the new AIC-7890 patch today morning and just got my machine up and
running (after disabling the SCSI BIOS and disabling Wide negotiation
using CTRL-A during boot-up). For your convenience, I have kept a modified
"Redhat 5.1 boot disk" which I used on my web-page. Just unzip the
contents of the file:
http://bart.aero.psu.edu/linux/boot51.zip
into a floppy and boot your system. I am positive that it will work.
Best of Luck!

Windows 98 supports real multitasking - it can boot and crash simultaneously.
