Hi,
a friend brought a DDS tape written with tar on OS/2, with all setting
allegedly good for our tape drive (SONY SDT-2000) - density 0x13 (DDS),
blocksize 512, no compression. But while trying to read this tape with
'tar xvf /dev/st0' I get the following error:
Jul 1 19:44:57 spider kernel: st0: Error with sense data: Current error st09:00
: sns = f0 3
Jul 1 19:44:57 spider kernel: ASC=31 ASCQ= 0
Jul 1 19:44:57 spider kernel: Raw sense data:0xf0 0x00 0x03 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x40
0x12 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x31 0x00 0x00 0x00
kernel 2.0.34, SCSI controller - BT-948
anyone care to decipher what's wrong?
thanks in advance
