I was wondering if anyone knows about seagate SCSI hard disk ST15230wc.
I bought the drive from Computer Geeks.

when the machine boots it reads

Vendor: SEAGATE Model: ST15230W SUN 4.2G Rev:0738
Detected SCSI disk sda at scsi 0, channel 0, id 6, lun 0
SCSI device sda: hdwr sector = 512 bytes. sectors 8386733 [4095 MB] 4.1GB

When I try to run CFDISK or FDISK in linux it says FATAL ERROR accessing
the disk
I have an Adaptec 2920 controller as well I tried a AdvanSys 5140 with the
same result.
I have no problems under DOS everything seems to work

While in the process of trying to get this to work on linux CFDISK opened
the disk once but when I went to create a partition CFDISK crashed, making
the disk unusable even to DOS fdisk so I had to low level format the drive
restoring use to DOS fdisk not linux.

when the drive is partitioned with DOS fdisk linux can use the partition
and create a file system, but windows can see the partition and reports it
as unreadable or damaged

Thanks Chuck
