Yes, there is. I was being dumb - I'd found the right bit, added it to
lilo.conf, and then did 'make zdisk' instead of zlilo. Dominic Chan mailed
a few minutes ago, making the same point, thanks to which (I could have
not spotted it for days) the card is now recognised and I've succeeded in
mounting it as a CDROM. Now to investigate XCDRoast ...
