Awhile back I was looking for help with getting a Seagate Travan
SCSI-1 (50 pin) external tape drive to work with my BT-958 SCSI-3 (68
pin) card. I received several good suggestions on how to fix my
problems, which occurred in NT 4.0 and Linux. I needed to do two
things to get the system to work. I downgraded the firmware version of
the BT-958 to 5.06J. I also obtained a 68 to 50 pin SCSI adaptor
which has internal active termination for the unused high bits of the
wide bus. This part is manufactured by Euroventures, in Ben Lomond,
California; I obtained it through Serendipity Electronics on Long
Island, NY.

Thanks to everyone for their help.
