I also have trouble with it on ASUS M/B with AIC-7890 chipset.
Just as Tad@mipg.upenn.edu, installer of Redhat 5.0 cannot
recognize AIC-7890.

Because the M/B (P2B-DS) is very new, perhaps very few 
people have been tried it. And as you know, Adaptec doesn't 
look likely to support linux on their controller eagerly, if anyone
 haven't make this chipset recognized yet, I'll give up with it
 and buy other Ultra-Wide SCSI contoroller.

Besides it, I wonder if there is any archive of this list. I've tried to

find some archives of this list, but not succeeded. 
Would anyone know where it is available?
