Not sure what you are doing, but aic-7xxx driver is working great with my8.7G U/W
Harddrive at the boot device.  I am having a problem using the
ppa and aic-7xxx drivers togather, but with just the aic-7xxx driver
every thing is great.  Which controller are you using?  Mine is the AIC-7880
built into my Micronics Dual PPro Motherboard.
