Hi,
maybe I should send out this little note for feedback:
I realized that using the 1542 driver seems to stop the kernel clock
for about 1.5 seconds (after reboot my clock is that for off, even
when using xntpd to synchronize it before). Is that a well-known
effect? The aic7xxx does not to cause such an effect.
For the 2940: I had reported troubles with the aic7xxx driver
included in 2.0.33 when making a backup to a HP DAT. The answer was
"check you cables", and maybe even the answer is not completely off,
BUT:
Using the 5.0.7 driver from Doug (??? spelling), I definitely have no
problems, even though I must admit that I'm using tagged queueing for
the 2.0.33 driver (4.1?), but no tagged queueing for the 5.0.7
driver. (Only because I can't remember the syntax to enable it in the
recent version)
Regards,
Ulrich
