Latest ncr53c8xx 2.6l driver should be able to use the on-chip RAM for
SCSI SCRIPTS on Alpha. This feature is supported for 53C825A, 875, 876
and 895 chips.
If you have such a SCSI controller on an Alpha system, you would help
driver development by giving this driver version a try and reporting
me results.
Driver files are gathered in a tar file pointed by the following URL:
ftp://ftp.tux.org/pub/people/gerard_roudier/ncr53c8xx-2.6l.tar.gz
I currently use it under linux-2.0.29 / Pentium II, but I think it
should be ok for linux-2.0.27..34 and linux-2.1.96..9999^H^H too.
BTW, testing the thing with either x86 systems or controllers without
on-chip RAM is also welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Gerard.
