A few days ago I posted that in the 2.0.29->2.0.33 kernel change,
my adaptec 2940uw became unhappy, resetting under any strain.
I received a few helpful emails (thanks all), but no solution to the problem.

Version 5.0.14 of the aic7xxx driver caused worse havoc, so I went
back to the 2.0.33 default (aic7xxx ver 4.1.1? i think) and this time
compiled the verbose error reporting into the kernel.

no more resets...
i've tried my hardest to break it: mulitple reads and writes to both
devices on the chain with above average system load...
no resets. :)

how is that possible?

thanks in advance,
-rob

ps: remove the -NOSPAM from the Reply-To header for my email addr...
