Yes, you can get an adapter to run wide devices on a narrow controller.
They run around $10-$15 arount here. Be aware that many of the cheap wide
drives that I've seen being sold are actually wide SCA connector drives,
which require a different type of adapter, which is more expensive. The
SCA adapters are also somewhat less mechanically sturdy, so be careful how
they are mounted.
Oh, yeah...don't strap a wide drive on a narrow controller to a SCSI ID
above 7.
