Mustek MFS-8000SP not working with NCR53c810a

Hello,

I have a problem getting started with my (rather old) Scanner -- Mustek
MFS-8000SP. It's connected to a NCR53c810a.

I tried already the new (up to 2.6b) Patches to the NCR-driver -- without
any change.

What I get:
The Scanner is ON. Booting starts. Bios recognizes Mustek-Scanner at
startup, but the message seems to be some kind of disturbed. Linux-booting
ends in SCSI-errors, namely

  unexpected disconnect
  restarting

I tried the NCR-driver with any possible combination of option setting.

Because of the disturbed Mustek-enblem at Bios-startup I thought about a
termination problem, but I am quite sure to have the right resistor setting
on my NCR, and the scanner has two connectors of which the second is
passively terminated. So what could be wrong?!

Further Infos:
The scanner is the only SCSI-device and set to ID6 -- other one have been
chosen, too.
Board: Gigabyte GA586ATV with P133 and 32MD RAM
HDD: Seagate ST3850A

Thanx,

  Christian Zobel
