Hi everybody,
I installed Linux Redhat 5.0 on a DELL Latitude XPi CD 166 MMX.
This is a portable with a docking station from 3COM.
When I installed RedHat 5.0 the autodetect worked, but I had to specify:
aha152x=0x140,11,7,1
my Jazz drive showed up as sda4 with all the details in Disk Druid...
I felt good ... at that time !
When I rebooted, I got the following :
scsi : 0 host
scsi : detected
... I read the SCSI-HOW-TO
and tried changing cable and termination
also changing boot parameters for LOADLIN ...
I boot with loadlin :
c:\loadlin\loadlin c:\loadlin\Vmlinuz root=/dev/hda5 ro vga=770
aha152x=0x140,11,7,1
I tried changing these parameters to include max_scsi_luns=1 or 8
I tried troubleshooting loadlin with the -t and the parameters looks OK
!
... but all attempts to detect the scsi host and drive are unsuccessful
more explanations of what I have ...
The SCSI is in the docking station.
DELL is telling me that what I have is an AIC-6360, at port 0x140
and interupt 11. My Win95 "System Resource Report" confirms that.
*** Sorry for mentioning Win95 ***
Now, My Port Replicator on SCSI in the BIOS is enabled
and my Jaz works under Win95.
My HD is split in two, I have Win95 and Linux on partitions of
about the same size.
I boot with loadlin :
c:\loadlin\loadlin c:\loadlin\Vmlinuz root=/dev/hda5 ro vga=770
aha152x=0x140,11,7,1
this is my debug from DOS
